This brand-new reptile house reminds me of San Diego's building, as visitors never actually encounter any doors and simply peer at the terrariums while always remaining outside. As this photo illustrates the building was not quite open in August of 2010, but I should point out that it is located in the Americas section of the zoo. The zoo is very conscious of geographical positioning of its animals and there are no exceptions to this rule, so I would assume that all of of the reptiles and amphibians to be placed here will be from either North or South America.

Interesting that the El Paso Zoo originally was only the Americas section of the current zoo, and then at one time the establishment doubled in size once an Asian zone was added. Then in 2010 the zoo expanded by an additional 10 acres with its African area, and now the entire park is just under 40 acres in size. Instead of gradually adding an exhibit or two over the years the zoo has basically undertaken 2 huge expansions since its inception.
