Sumatran Tigers in Europe

Some good news recently;

ZSL London's cubs are 2.1 and are 'Budi', 'Nakal' and the very original name 'Cinta'.

Fota now have a pair of Sumatrans who are 'Denar' from Warsaw (Ratu x Iban) and 'Douga' from Champrepus (Chandra x Paco).

 

Male, Gio (B May2010 Hermes X Alia) was moved from Rotterdam to Sosto in early April

Another death which has recently filtered through is that of female, Bahagia (Born Dortmund 2003) at Terra Natura

 

Zoo Parc Beauval - 2.1 cubs born 18/5/2014 in a first breeding for the park (AsuWHF2008xJambiKREFELD2008)

 

Arnhem - Female Jarum, gave birth to new cubs last night. (AryoPAIGNTON2009 X JarumKREFELD2008) the 2nd litter for this pair.. Both the previous cubs are still at Arnhem for now as well.

The Beauval cubs have also been named - The female is Terima, whilst her brothers are Kashi and Batak

 

Paignton

Paignton have sent their breeding female, 'Banda', to Parc des Felines. Banda has bred four cubs successfully and leaves her mate 'Tenang'. Paignton have received a new female from Berlin Tierpark, 'Shakira', who's sister is the mother of 'Banda'.

 

Arnhem cubs - today sexed as 0.2

Confirmed on the Edinburgh thread that male Tibor (Heidelberg2007 Timophi/Sabu X Kim) will be moving onto pastures new shortly and will be replaced by a different male at Edinburgh

 

1.1 cubs were born at Doue La Fontaine on 22nd September (BintangPaignton2009 X KiaraHeidelberg2005) the male cub has been named Kumbuh whilst his sister is Cinta. The 2nd litter for this pair

 

Arnhem cubs (0.2) are now named Nonja and Tess

 

1.0 born at Aalborg on 9th November (KimRotterdam2000 X BatuTierpark2003) the 2nd litter for this pair following the death of their previous cub earlier in the year

 

Another important birth to end the year on - female, Chana (aka Hannah) at Jerusalem Biblical Zoo gave birth to 0.0.2 cubs on 17th November. The cubs father is Avigdor who was born at Wuppertal in 2005

Chana has previously given birth of several occasions with the only surviving cub (until now) having to be hand reared. Luckily this time she seems to have got the hang of motherhood and is rearing them herself!

Chana was born 11/2004 at Ramat Gan and is an important individual in the EEP being the only one of her parents offspring left in Europe (her brother, Oz went to Auckland in 2006 and her parents didn't breed again) She was earmarked for transfer to Paignton in 2011 but the move was later cancelled

So the total number of surviving cubs so far this year currently stands at 7.7.2 an excellent and productive year

 

Unfortunately things haven't ended well for Chana's latest litter..

First European birth of 2015 - 0.0.3 born at Chester on 2nd Jan

 

Ree Park (Ebeltoft) - male, Asim (B Frankfurt2011 Malea X Iban) arrived from Heidelberg this week to join female, Gasha (B Praha2011 Surami X Falco)

Gasha's sister, Gemma has moved from Ebeltoft to a collection in the UK (which one isn't clear yet)

One of the tiger brothers (born in Rheine) soon leave Wrocław and move to Heidelberg Zoo.

 

..and today male, Tebo arrived at Heidelberg

 

Arnhem - female cubs, Lara and Janine (B05/05/2013 Aryo X Jarum) will shortly move on. One is going to Sosto, Hungary and the other will be placed at South Lakes

 

A first breeding for Le Pal - 2.0 cubs born 23rd March to Nila (BChester2011 Kirana X Fabi) and Taru (BFrankfurt2011 Malea X Iban)

The new litter at Chester - sexed as 2.1 and given the names Topan, Jaya and Kasama (female)

 

One of the Arnhem 2013 sisters (Lara or Janine) made the journey to South Lakes this week

Female, Gemma (B2011 at Praha, Falco X Surami) is now confirmed to be at Drayton Manor following her departure from Ebeltoft earlier in the year

Also mentioned on the London thread that female, Cinta (B2014 at London, Jae Jae X Melati) will be going to Praha in the near future
