In a newspaper article I found a short note on a Turkish zoo/naturepark called Metropolitan and it should be near Izmir.
They recieved 45 animals from 2 Israeli zoos ( Biblical zoo Jerusalem and Ramat Gan ). The animals :
3 Meerkats
3 Monkeys ( no species mentioned )
6 Flying foxes
6 Nyalas
3 Zebras
x other antilope-species
Has anybody more information about this collection ?

Has anybody any idea if Blackpool zoo are still planning to return rhino to the collection? Also there was talk of renovating the elephant/reptile house this year but this has not yet taken place, any news?

The Wildpark Reuschenbergen-Leverkusen has had succes in breeding the Chough. Because the parent didn't take care properly for the young some were lost but the last 2 were taken out the nest and are now being hand-raised.

Very rare birth at Zoo Augsburg : a Northern Slow Lory ( Nyciticebus bengalensis ) born. The mother was being conficugated for 10 years at an airport and it's her first young. Because of lacking morher-care the young is being hand-raised.

Hello! I'm looking for good books about wildlife biology/conservation biology etc. or just books on wildlife for someone going into the zoology field. I'll be going to college this fall for zoology and I'd love to read books about zoology and the suck. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks!

In recent years, researchers have found toxins in a wide array of snakes and lizards formerly believed to be harmless…even the Bearded Dragon is not above suspicion (please see below), but venomous pythons? While working at the Bronx Zoo, I was several times called upon to assist in confiscating snakes that had appeared in the pet trade before we learned of their potentially lethal venom (i.e. Asian Watersnakes, genus Rhabdophis). All evidence of toxicity must be taken seriously…bear in mind that both the Boomslang and Savanna Twig Snake were thought to be harmless until each killed a prominent herpetologist! The recent discovery of toxins in the mucus of certain pythons poses a unique and unexpected concern for snakebite victims.\
