Bear complex at Mulhouse 29/08/09

Built in the 1980s, this will be part of the site of the zoo\'s new Polar Bear enclosure in the coming years.

These bear pits look somewhat similar to the "giant urinals" that hold orangutans at Dudley Zoo. I'm sure that they were cutting edge when they first opened, but now they are a train wreck of a bear exhibit.
