For a moment I though this was some kind of model of a Tyrannosaurus rex. That snout would certainly not improve one´s health!

Not good. This happens when the croc is always swimming along the glass wall ....

      Those teeth need no explanation!

On a recent visit to Cologne / Köln Zoo I observed the crocodile water to be very cloudy. The crocs were basking, but had they been in their great pool , there would not have been much visual impact for the visitor. This is a shame , especially given the many millions of euros spent on the exhibit.Nevertheless , the hippos , kept in the same building (Hippodom) were pretty much invisible underwater which is even more of a shame as the exhibit would be one of the most stunning to be found anywhere were the water clear.Of course , to say that industrial-strength filtration equipment would be necessary to keep the water decent is an understatement.I am not aware if the Cologne exhibit lacks this equipment, or if I just happened to visit on a day when it was not running.Perhaps somebody on Zoochat could offer better info.
