Seems a little bare to me? Or is it just me...

Well it was taken in October last year!

There are a number of photos of this enclosure on ZooChat, and for a lemur exhibit it appears to be incredibly bare and disappointing.

Bare and disappointing, really? It looks like they have some trees and bushes and lots of grassy room to roam around. These guys are terrestrial unlike many lemur species so having a lot of ground to cavort on makes biological sense for the species. I'm not sure I've ever seen a really good exhibit for this species in an American zoo. Most of the time they seem to get stuck in smallish cages or islands in the middle of ponds.

there are also ruffed lemurs in there which are emphatically not terrestrial. Ring-tailed lemurs do spend a lot of time on the ground but they're not an open-country species. However others have said that this enclosure isn't as bare as it appears from the angles in these photos so I will accept their first-hand knowledge of it.

The enclosure isn't as bare (I only took a photo of the enclosure from this view) Around the other side there is a bit more foliage not too much though.
