I find it very amusing to walk around in zoos on Google Street View - by the way, I actually first found out how to use Street View recently but now I use it constantly.

Any other who share this strange interest and have found some zoos to street view? So far, I've explored Prague Zoo, Ostrava Zoo, Chessington, Givskud Zoo, Aquazoo Friesland and San Diego Zoo, and I would like to know if there's more.

Do the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City Kansas. Most of the animals are visible because a lot of the cages are close to the roads.

I never realised until looking at Praha that you could look within the grounds of certain zoos on street view! Like Fossa Dude says I'm used to being only able to view those close to main roads. Does anyone know of any UK zoos on street view other than Chessington?

Wow that's awesome! Didn't realise they did this! It would be great if we could find/make a list of which zoos have this!

EDIT: London, Bristol, Whipsnade, Chester and Dudley don't have it.

No, UK doesn't have Street View other places than Chessington, unless there's some medium-sized or small collection I have missed (I've only searched for relatively big and well-known zoos).

You can see part of the pets corner at Welsh Mountain Zoo. And the main gate but that is it really.

Went to look at San Diego and discovered you can switch on 3D viewing. Unfortunately you need the red / green glasses and I haven't got any. Looks very clear though - just hunting for the polar bears.

How does that work on the marketing level - do you have to invite them in or do they offer; and do you have to pay for it?

Apenheul, Dierenpark Wissel, Dublin Zoo, Fota Wildlife Park, Zurich Zoo, Basel Zoo and Sea World San Diego all have Street View now. That calls for some hours at Google! :p

I remember a few months back that Google were asking for suggestions on where they should take their new street view "trikes" (smaller and more agile than their cars) so as to get more pedestrian pathways onto Google Maps.

Cars, Trikes & More ? Google Maps with Street View

You can invite Google to explore your property:

Aalborg Zoo, Knuthenborg, Nordens Ark, Skånes Djurpark, Kolmården Djurpark, Kristiansand Dyrepark, Rotterdam Zoo, Madrid Zoo, the other Sea Worlds, Detroit Zoo and Busch Gardens can be added to the list. Belfast is not up yet.
Oh, and I found out while writing this that London Zoo which had no street view when I started the thread, is ready to be explored that way now. :D

    Hello Guys,

I'm glad you are following up on our added zoo maps features, we are comitted to bring many more zoos and animal parks around the world to be explored thru the maps features. We think it is a mutual benefit for future visitors as well as this modern day conservation institutions.

Please continue with your sugestions to our team on any zoos or animal parks that would like to have added. We have received many emails from members of this site and they are very important to us, lots of great ideas.
Thank you for inviting us to your zoo forum.

Valencia Bioparc is now available, as it will be Berlin Zoo in the next few weeks, still working on the second Berlin animal park. We did update the satelite image of Berlin Zoo to our most recent take, showing the New Birdhouse. Once we upload the street view feature, you will get some nice angles of the massive complex before they plant the landscape around it.

I was lucky enough to take some great shots of it, as well as an informal tour of the already completed areas, and all i can say is wow, i'm sure your forum will be impressed, i have seen many bird exhibits and buildings in many zoos, including the Singapore park, and this is just in another level.

    Again Thank you.
