I am curious, what is your favorite season to go to zoos? All seasons are good for something, like how Spring is good for babies, Winter is good for small crowds and active snow animals, Summer is when every animal is outside, and Fall the trees are beautiful with deer in full antlers. But what is your favorite and why. (If you can, say which zoo do you like best in your favorite season)
Summer! Columbus Zoo is the best in the summer, as well as Toledo, Erie (the best around late August-early September), Akron, etc. Cleveland is an all-weather zoo because of the indoor parts.
December, January and February. It may be cold and wet but the compensation is the sheer luxury of having a zoo almost to yourself at times. No crowds and no school groups Half-term has started and I've just been reminded of the horrors to come through the rest of the year
I hate the cold, (if it's less than 70 F, I start to complain) so I don't go to the zoo much in the winter unless we get a warm winter day. I live in south Texas, where summers get extremely hot. I do go to the zoo a lot in the summer, but I prefer the spring the most. (and to a lesser extent, the fall) Since I'm in college, I'm able to go in the middle of a weekday so I don't have to deal with crowds. YEEEEAH COLLEGE LIFE. My mom hates going to the zoo in the summer, she's organized a trip to New Orleans with the Audubon Zoo & Aquarium as a major piece of it, and she's specifically not doing it in the summer. (granted, she has a much lower heat tolerance than I do) One time I went to the zoo when it was lightly raining, in the fall. There was practically no one at the zoo, and a lot of the animals were enjoying the rain.
since I live in New York we don't have horrible winters and okay summers but I certainly prefer spring and fall to summer and winter due to changing colors and less crowds
