More stereotypical behaviour, similar to over-grooming in Bonobo and Mangabeys, bar-licking/chewing in Okapi/Giraffe etc. Everyone notices 'pacing' in Big Cats, but these other behaviours are more subtle.

It's quite interesting that the stereotypical behaviour which is most often noticed and lambasted is, theoretically, the one which causes the least actual damage to the animal in question - whilst these more subtle behaviours can and do cause physical damage.

Yikes, even animals have "partners" these days!
    • Pertinax
I presume they are in a stable relationship....:D

That deserves one of your own gold stars.

      Post of the Day :D

Before this sign went up, I'd assumed that the loss of hair was due to vigorous mating. The bald patch looked like the shape of Xander's body to me. Whatever the cause, it's good that, unlike the previous partnership, they're getting on and that we may hear the patter of tiny anoa hooves in due course.
