Orang Island Then and Now #1. 1997

An old family photo dated 1997, the year the Ape House opened. I can remember the orangs using this nice little platform. The orang on the ropes must be Bulu or Senja. If it's Bulu, her daughter, Gambira, born in 1997, would be attached to her somewhere - hard to tell.

      I doubt it is Bulu. Never saw her climbing on ropes when she was at Paignton- I think she was too bulky to trust herself to gymnastics.

      A pity you cannot replicate a 'then and now' for the grove of trees on the main Island.
