What happens when zoo keepers get pregnant? Can they still clean up poop? Is there anything they absolutely have to avoid doing? I have to imagine that some zoo keepers get pregnant at some point!
Yes, they can still clean up feces, though there is often an exception to that for cats due to the potential for toxo transmission. Past that, any recommendations are between them and their doctor, and it varies from person-to-person. I know keepers who worked up until the week before they gave birth, and keepers who were out several weeks before birth. In general, though, at some point they have to stop lifting heavy things, being around chemicals, etc.
