What animals do you think are favourites of zoochatters? Following Nikola Chavkosk's comment stating that most zoochatters love black rhinos, okapis, bonobos and the superb bird of paradise.
animalszoos, I wrote this, on your thread: ''For zoochatters, certantly okapis, black rhinos, bonobos, superb bird of paradise (kept at San Diego zoo) or samar cobra would attract much attention'' - wich may not mean that these animals are favourites for zoochatters, but it just mean that they are interesting, charizmatic and attractive seeing them in a zoo by zoochatters (and average public sometimes don't make difference between chimp and bonobo). But nothing too wrong, don't worry.
ZooChat members have a wide variety of interests. I love cats, for example, but others love certain types of birds or a category of snakes or hoofstock or whatever. I think the only generalization you can make is that ZooChat favorites are whatever is rare in captivity. Nothing generates more interest on this site than a listing of a species that can be seen in only one or two zoos (or a few zoos in the world). Here are some I can think of off the top of my head: Jentink's duiker (before the last one died in Texas) Platypus (some members desperately want one outside Australia) Marbled cat (myself and Devilfish and Tealovingdave would do almost anything to see one)
About that... *cough* Just a couple of days ago I had the pleasure of meeting one in a private collection. An amazing creature but no photos taken.
Elephants and ungulates are my top twofavorite species, with felines a close second. That being said, I enjoy every animal I see in zoos.
