Chimpanzee enclosure at Luebeck Tierpark 2007

This chimp is a bit, well, crazy. Didn't take well to people approaching the exhibit. Ironically he's in probably one of the best enclosures at this run-down zoo.

Yup. 'Fraid so. At least this one has some sort of soft substrate and has been painted in the last 10 years...

Was he alone? To be fair this place looks *****.
Edit: Ok, doesn't like that word: Awful :p
Another Edit: Just noticed the other chimp

The cages where made bigger to this size a few years ago. There are three chimps. 2,1.
This cages used to house smaller monkeys, but after a circus left their chimps there, the zoo had to keep them, nobody wanted them... The 'crazy' male lived in this circus in a box!!! He had to learn to walk again. So this 'evil bad animal hating prisson' as many people like to see it is a paradies for the chimps.
Same with the bear and the leopard.
    • Animal
The last two chimps moved to the UK to an ape sanctury. One already died sadly. Sometimes it's not the best idea to move old animals.
