On April 17th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) Amur leopard named Megan passed away at age 19 due to advanced kidney failure.

Such a shame, last week I saw that the zoo had an old Amur leopard in the NA Population thread and now she is gone. Rest in peace. Just like Lucas the jaguar at Toronto Zoo, the day before he died, I asked questions about him and after 1 day, he passed. It is too sudden.

Today the zoo announced that their new mandrill and colobus monkey exhibit is almost done. They finished the rock structure and the cascade. The final things are the plants and the net on top of the exhibit. It will be fully opened in Summer 2024. The animal will be there in the end of spring. The two species will not be together at the same time. They will have a turn for each species. The exhibit looks beautiful, it is like the one for the Japanese macaque. The exhibit is better than the indoor exhibit which is very small.

On April 24th, the zoo announced that due to avian influenza, the lorikeet aviary will be closed to the public until further notice, and some birds such as the flamingos will be delayed in coming outside.
