From the video and news reports, it appears that he has invested a considerable amount of effort and money into building a fantastic facility to care for elephants, leopards, and other local animals. Hopefully, he will be successful in running the program for other rare animals as well. I'm not sure when the facility will open to the public, but I definitely want to visit there in the future.

There were Mouse Deer in the Fragile Forest when I went in September, not sure exactly what species though.

I saw that the Gibbon Island will be closed from 4~17 march, and I was wondering if there is a border or wall that blocks view into the island, or the animals will just not be on exhibit.

The exhibit is still visible, with the animals off show. The moat has been drained for maintenance and some of the artificial vines are being replaced.

Oh. I hoped that the exhibit’s moat will stay because it is one of the hotspots for Stork billed Kingfisher. Thank you for the info!

I've heard that Mandai received some female Nile Lechwe recently. I suppose they will be getting a male too. Not sure which park they will be displayed at though.

Does anyone have a full up to date species list for the Fragile Forest biodome?

    Some small updates:

The Red River Hog sign has been removed from the exhibit at Wild Africa. It seems like the Nyala females will fully occupy the exhibit.

Mandai's last remaining Greater Mousedeer is back on display at Treetops Trail (unsigned).

The former Big-headed Turtle vivarium at the Fragile Forest frog room now houses Red-eyed Crocodile Skink (unsigned). But they are near impossible to see if they're not being fed as they spend the whole day hidden under pieces of wood.

Raja died a couple of years ago. He was quite old. Nuwa is still around, and a new female arrived recently.

Is the new female intended for the zoo or night safari?
