I sadly can confirm Shafira passed away however the date on Zootierliste isn't correct. I don't have an exact date it should be anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks ago. But I did spot her on the 5th.

For the fourth year in a row black lemur was born to pair Oreo and Kimmie. Planckendael now houses five black lemurs, as this baby's two older sisters Xhuna and Yuna are also still at Planckendael.

Ooooh, a new baby Hyena and Black Lemur! We will be visiting Belgium again in June, and Planckendael wasn't 100% in the planning again, but I guess this will tip it over the edge, lol.

Permanent shade structures are being installed in the penguin exhibit in Planckendael's South American aviary.

They also started adding the old Echidna/wombat enclosure to the Tasmanian devils.

Not a bad solution to use this area again, but personally I still would have liked an additional exhibit. Planckendael notably misses any kind of parrot species in this area, in my opinion.

The hyena cub has been found to be a female and has been named Zahara.
