Hi! I would be interested to know more about the orangutans 'Gigit' and 'Beau' who were at Twycross Zoo. Have they both passed away, did they have any offspring, date of birth etc.
Beau was sent to Blackpool- he drowned in the (then) shallow water moat while still very young. Gigit was sent to Paignton where she later died. I don't remember the circumstances. Neither had offspring. The dates of their births, transfers and deaths will be in the Orangutan Studbook but you have to find their names in the historical register first.
