I am not even mad. It’s more reasonable than a weird mix with walrus forced into it.

    Animals apparently:

    Sussex Chicken
    Highland Cattle
    Alpine Goat
    Alpaca
    American Standard Donkey
    Hill Radnor Sheep
    Tamworth Pig

No mention of an exhibit animal but unusually for an Animal Pack it does include scenery so I guess that's the trade-off.

I don't mind a domestic animal pack at all (though I'm very much hoping there's more to come afterwards!). I think broadly those are the right 7 animals, though in my ideal world I'd change the breed of the pig, donkey, and probably goat.

But I really hate that they called it 'Barnyard' - that word will never feel natural in British English! :D

For me it’s the sheep (and maybe the chicken) that could use a replacement. I am okay with the other animals.

I'm pretty happy with getting a farm animal pack, definitely something new. I will say though, did they really need to have that many British breeds? I get Frontier is UK-based but feels a bit out of touch to the wider community.

Also a rabbit or duck feels sorely missing... But either way I'm looking forward to building a nice farm area and I'm excited to see how the visitor-animal interactions will go. Hope this isn't the last DLC like people are assuming.

I still think Frontier have at least a few other DLCs up their sleeve for Planet Zoo. Never in my mind that I thought there would be just 1 more DLC as all that guy said before was they are not quite finished with PC version just yet.

Honestly, I think this is a good addition. The lack of farm animals for a petting zoo really felt odd.

Despite a general feeling of doom, and a lot of people treating this as hard fact, at no point has it been stated this is the last DLC. It's just we only had confirmation that at least one more was coming, and this is the 'one' - so nothing further is explicitly confirmed. We'll see what comes on the Frontier stream on Wednesday - hopefully that will give a better idea.

If I was Frontier, I would be putting out two more DLCs, in addition to this farm pack, to take the game to the 5th anniversary. That would seem like a really satisfying place to stop.

Would also nudge them to the magical "over 200" animals for marketing the game in the future.

I'm just gonna state this right now - ALL of the new animals should be compatible with each other. I see no reason for them not to be. You often see farm animals mingling with each other, especially since chickens tend to be free-roaming around the farm anyway.

While I am a console player so who knows how long it'll be before this update comes to console I am very excited for it.
Having a animal pack that also has some nice pieces is amazing even if those animals are all farm animals.
And the idea of building petting zoos or having things like free roaming chickens is exciting especially with the free update coming with this dlc.
I just wish it wasn't almost only British breeds. Would have been some nice diversity to have Domestic animals from more regions.

I don't like how the concept art/promo pics for this pack include people petting ring-tailed lemurs- it makes me genuinely concerned about what this change to walk-through exhibits will entail in the update, and how it could potentially foster bad behavior amongst real zoo visitors in the future.

Exactly, seeing more variety in the domestic animals featured would have been amazing. I like the highland cattle but replacing the goats pigs and maybe sheep with other breeds like African pygmy goat and Vietnamese pot belly pig would have been great. And other breeds are more common in petting zoos around the world than these ones are.

To be honest, if I was Frontier (or more precisely the decision maker), I would milk this as long as it's possible. I mean, how expensive is it to make such a DLC? I think way less than a completely new game...
This game still would have (better, it has) tons of potential (which I doubt it is impossible to exploit) so why not continuing this way with maybe 3-4 DLCs for another 4-5 years (it is without a doubt one of the most successful games Frontier made).
I mean, other developers can do it as well. SCS for example is still updating their ETS2...which is nearly 12 years old. And they still make and successfully sell DLCs. Why shouldn't this work here too.
