Hi, Zootierliste lists that Biotropica has Livingstone's Flying Fox, Black-and-white Casqued Hornbil, Luzon Chestnut Munia and Northern Dry Zone Slender Loris. Are they really there and where and when can they be best seen?
The Livingstone's flying foxes are on show in a large aviary with Lyle's flying foxes (easy to see). Not sure if the grey-cheeked hornbill are still there but were on show in a walkthrough aviary outside the building. The 3 northern dry zone slender loris are mix with young gharials in a large and tall terrarium. I suppose they are hard to spot there. And no idea for the chestnut munia but I don't see where they can put a such species on show.

A Three-banded Armadillo is recently born. Biotropica on Instagram: "* journée internationale des tatous * Bonjour à tous, aujourd'hui 13 août est célébrée la journée internationale des tatous. Les tatous font partie du groupe des Xénarthres tout comme les paresseux ou encore les fourmiliers. A Biotropica, vous pouvez voir dans l'enclos des chauves souris de Livingstone et des Renards volants de Lyle, des tatous à 3 bandes. On les appelle ainsi car ils possèdent trois bandes d'écailles sur le dos, séparées par des bandes de peaux, leur permettant de se mettre en boule lorsqu'il se sente menacé. La tatou à 3 bandes est d'ailleurs le seul tatou à pouvoir former une boule parfaite, la tête et la queue s'imbriquant parfaitement, comme vous pouvez le voir sur la 4eme photo. Même s'ils sont assez difficiles à apercevoir lors de votre visite car ils aiment passer du temps dans sous terre, il n'est pas rare de les voir courir à toute allure dans l'enclos. Il y a quelques semaines maintenant nous avons la joie d'apercevoir un bébé sortir d'un des terriers ! It was on way since a few months/years but the park received female Livingstone's flying foxes so now has a breeding group. According to zootierliste Jersey sent 2,4 so now the group is 5,4. And another news : Zoo des Sables d'Olonne sent their brazilian porcupines (0,3) to Biotropica who has 0,4 animals. Les Sables is no longer holding this species. The recent snowfalls over Normandy have led to a temporary closure of Biotropica. Arrival of a flock of Chilean Flamingos. It's a new species for this park. Un groupe de Flamants du Chili a élu domicile dans l'ancien enclos des Grues de Mandchourie juste à côté de la terrasse du Snack. D'ailleurs savez vous d'où provient la couleur rose du Flamant ? De son alimentation ! Dans la nature, il se nourrit de petits crustacés et notamment de crevettes possédant un pigment, le caroténoïde, et c'est grâce à ce pigment que les plumes du Flamant sont roses !
