It appears that there's no thread for this one yet, so I've created one. I've had a small conversation with Greg Irons this morning, and can reveal that construction has begun on the new Wildlife Hospital, set to be complete in August this year.
It is near Hobart, Tasmania. As of my visit in January 2020, it had the following species on display: Mammals: Tasmanian Devil Tasmanian Wombat Southern Koala Tasmanian Echidna Forester Kangaroo Sugar Glider Eastern Quoll Spotted-tail Quoll Common Ringtail Possum Tasmanian Long-nosed Potoroo Tasmanian Bettong Birds: Indian Peafowl Laughing Kookaburra Tasmanian Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo Galah Musk Lorikeet Long-billed Corella Sulphur-crested Cockatoo Rainbow Lorikeet Eastern Rosella Cape Barren Goose Tawny Frogmouth Emu Reptiles: Tasmanian She-oak Skink Mountain Dragon Blotched Blue-tongue Lowland Copperhead Tasmanian Black Tiger Snake Amphibians: Tasmanian Tree Frog I know that they now also have Red-tailed Black Cockatoos.
Friendship/partnership between a Red-tailed Black Cockatoo and Musk Lorikeet: Unlikely friendship between cockatoo and lorikeet 'bamboozles' wildlife sanctuary visitors
Thanks for the list. Only having approximately 30 species doesn't seem like much, but many zoo nerds around the world would love to see some of those animals at their local zoos!
It’s primarily a rescue/rehab centre with some exhibits for unreleasable animals and some herptile displays. Despite this they’re from the research I’ve done they’re the only public holder of Tasmanian Tree Frogs.
