I am not sure yet... I have seen all the major easily accessible institutions in Europe... I was thinking about Moscow but the current winter conditions do not really permit a nice visit there. I will probably keep it for later in the summer time!

I am currently planning my first US trip and I am thinking about two weeks in California in March. San Diego Zoo and San Diego WAP could be two very nice 999th and 1000th zoos... but I am not sure if I can wait until then to hit this number!

As far as I can remember, I just scrape into the 25-49 category, having visited 23 establishments in the UK plus Zwinn Bird Sanctuary (Belgium), Zoodyssee and a wolf sanctuary in France, Prague Zoo and Abuko nature reserve in The Gambia (28 in total).

I tend to visit the same places year after year so I was pleasantly surprised by the total. I have total admiration for those of you who have visited over 100 collections - not just because of the number of visits but the fact that you can remember you've visited that many!!

    I'm at 82 zoos in 12 countries, 3 continents.
Already have 4 more new zoos planned for this year; Berlin Zoo and Tierpark and 2 small zoos in the Netherlands and I'm aiming for 90 visited zoos and the end of 2013.

In some way this poll is not fair. The person who visit one zoo during his lifetime will not be on ZooChat I guess !
I myself stands at nearly 60 mainly in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany with as an extra London Zoo ( around 1983 ) and Abuko in the Gambia.

An update from me as well! I'm now in the 10-24 range with 21 zoos.

Still not close to many of you but I'm getting there and for 17 years old I don't think that's too shabby.

Now with 92 voters, the 100 plus category is tied for the lead with the 10-24 category.

@AD, 100 or more would probably win if we could change our votes, at least zooboy and me have passed the 100 zoo mark after we voted ;).

I haven't gotten to travel in a long time, so my number is pretty low. I'm like, a ZooChat failure. </3

    Gladys Porter Zoo
    Houston Zoo
    San Antonio Zoo
    SeaWorld San Antonio
    Minnesota Zoo
    Moody Gardens, Galveston
    Cameron Park Zoo
    Fort Worth Zoo
    Dallas Zoo
    Texas State Aquarium

I'm pretty sure I've been to a few others and just don't remember them well. We traveled a lot when I was in elementary school and we probably saw a couple of other zoos up north. I also went to the Ringling Bros. Circus once as a kid, but I'm not sure if that counts. I used to go to the Aquarium restaurant in Kemah, but they didn't have lots of animals so again, not sure if it would count. I'm hoping I'll get a job that allows me to travel in the future, and if that happens, I'll definitely be visiting more zoos.

It probably doesn't matter but I have remembered one more collection-ish place in Cyprus (only keeps Cyprian Mouflon) but for completeness sake:

    Cyprus-
    56) Stavros tis Psokas Forest Station
