Pinniped species in captivity?

    You can see every species found in Japanese aquariums on this site. http://web-aquarium.net/zukan/ki/index.html Unfortunately it's in Japanese so you have to blindly click around a bit The website is also slightly out of date as the last elephant seal at futami sea paradise seems to have died in 2014 at 24 years old. Regardless, Japanese aquariums have high diversity when it comes to marine mammals.

    I have seen:
    Leopard seals
    Australian fur seals
    Australian sea lion
    New Zealand fur seals

    Unfortunately no leopard seals in captivity at this moment in time.

    Ohh I didn't know casey the leopard seal from Toronga Zoo died..

    Yeah, he died back in 2014.

    Does Skegness seal sanctuary still have hooded seals? Because they are certainly unusual!

    They have not held said species for a number of years now, since the last one died.

    They have only ever had a single animal at a time,and none of them have survived very long,as they have always been rescued animals that have been found well out of their normal range!In fact Oban Seal Sanctuary has kept more than Skegness ever has!
