The exporting organisation is ACTP. They deponated 26 Spix macaws to India, 25 to Pairi daiza, 1 to Denmark. They also sold between 2019 and first half of year 2023: 5 to private keeper´s site in Belgium, 11 to Denmark and 4 to Slovak breeder. source I have no info if or who was arrested.
I accidentally deleted my post that Jana responded to while editing it. But here is the post again: In a post on Facebook, claims are being made against a "breeding station in Germany" which allegedly has been selling "Spix Macaws, Lears Macaws, and rare Caribbean Amazons" to "private Zoos and Breeders around the globe", specifically in Europe and India, and also mentions that some breeders in Germany have been arrested the past week because of this. One part of the post states: "Brazil criticized the fact that such exports were not agreed upon and is demanding that the animals be returned." No facility/organization is being mentioned, but the number of facilities they possibly are referring to is very slim. Does anyone know anything more about this? The post: Log in to Facebook
