I voted 'other' as primates are my favourites. I'm most drawn to gorillas, then chimpanzees. Such fascinating animals to watch.

@geomorph- Same here! The spiral-horned antelopes, along with the members of Bovidae, are all my favorites.

Unfortunately, I rarely see my true favorite animal, the elephant. :(

I chose carnivores. I'm so fascinated by them and the way they hunt, especially cats and hyenas. I also really love hyenas, because of their intelligance, cooperation, and how they're so misunderstood.

Hoofstock are my All time favorite animal group for as long as i could remember, its really hard to choose which group of hoofstock, If i had to choose i will just say my 3 favorite species in order would be

    1. Thomsons gazelle ( Eudorcas thomsonii)
    2. Grants gazelle ( Nanger granti)
    3. Nubian ibex ( Capra nubiana)

Although these days i have really been finding an interest in caprids, suidae and bovinae because they are very overlooked and when the average person (non-zoochatter) thinks about a goat, sheep, pig or cattle they think of the ones on farms and do not realize that there are wild species like Siberian ibex, Dalls sheep, Bornean bearded pig, Gaur etc.

Hoofstock are really in danger because they are not popular like animals such as Elephants, Chimps, Lions etc, and because of that if a zoo were to choose between a tiger or goral, they would choose a tiger

My best memories in zoos as a kid were in horn and hoof mesa at san diego zoo seeing the vast ungulate diversity that the zoo had back in the day, another great memory in zoos as a kid was riding the Wgasa bushline at the san diego wild animal park and seeing their vast ungulate diversity.

I have favorites in all catagories but I just love almost all carnivores. The only group that rivals too much is ungulates. Especially the bigger ones!!:D

Not surprisingly I've just voted for birds, but I am also a lifelong Elephant aficionado and as for the days when British zoos were bulging at the seams with cetaceans.....

Primates first (so I haven't voted); but really all of the above - except cetaceans, which I don't think can be kept properly yet.

Since I could only choose 1 for the poll, I chose Reptiles. Mustelids, although high on my list can not sway my vote. :)

Just vote for other. How do you get the quote thing under each of your posts? It's really cool.

My favourites are the great apes (especially orangutans & gorillas) and the big cats (especially tigers). I also have a fondness for otters, polar bears and hippos (both river and pygmy).
