Old Los Angeles Zoo map

The China Pavilion (middle right) was were the pandas and golden monkeys used to be exhibited back in the eighties. The china pavilion now houses the Red Uakari Monkeys.

      And the flight cage just past the China Pavilion, which now houses a very successful breeding group of Cape Griffon Vultures, was originally built in the late 1970s for the then lone California Condor in captivity, Topa Topa. Topa Topa is still here at the zoo, and is part of the zoo's successful breeding program. I await the day that L.A. puts a few of them back on display, as they are in several other zoos.
