      Tries very hard not to feel envious. Fails utterly...

      How many individuals did they have? Have they bred?

      Lovely picture, best on the internet of this species.

      Of all the many, many species you saw on your trip to make me envious, this is the one which I am most jealous about!

      @IanRRobinson

      For a number of years only two , and no breeding yet , one of them ( the individual in the other pictures , called Aré) is very well adapted to captivity but the cat shown in this picture has never quite adapted. They both originally came from a zoo in Central Brazil although I can't remember which it was. The individual shown in this picture is the older and fiercer of the two.

      A very isolated wild population of pampas cats was discovered to exist in rural Sorocaba municipality in the late 80's / 90's but there has been very little research done on this species in the region. I'd actually like to develop a research project on this very topic in the near future.
