Malabar dwarf puffers spawning in Java moss
Carinotetraodon travancoricus. The female (left) has the small black spots and a blue sheen. The male has bolder black markings, with a stripe on the throat and curved lines behind the eye. One of the smallest puffers, only 2.5 cm standard length, although it looks larger if it does puff itself up. Photographed in the Aquatics room of the college where I used to work.
