This image shows the Oregon Zoo map with most of the exhibits in light grey and all of the new improvements in vibrant colour. Oregon Zoo had a 2008 bond that was voter approved and since then the zoo has undergone a major transformation. A veterinary medical center, filtration system in the Penguinarium (although that building is rather outdated in my opinion), Condors of the Columbia, new railway for the train and Elephant Lands are all completed. The new Education Center will include an insect zoo and it will open in spring 2017 to be the 6th major project. The last 3 are polar bears (2019), primates (2020) and rhinos (2022). The last one will see hippos leave the zoo and the Black Rhino exhibit will essentially double in size.
