Aalborg Zoo - African Village (Savannah House)

The hardstanding areas and outdoor yards for the African savanna animals as seen from outside The African Village in Aalborg Zoo. These yards are used for the animals living in the big Savannah House, e.g. grevy’s zebras (Equus grevyi), greater kudus (Tragelaphus strepsiceros), scimitar-horned oryx (Oryx dammah) and ostriches (Struthio camelus). In the background you can see the savannah viewing hut, the pygmy hippo exhibit and the roof of the African Tropical House. The African Village opened in 2006 and is the biggest project in Aalborg Zoo’s history. It features wildlife from the African savannahs and wetlands. July 2012
