Africa exhibit construction
In the fall of 2015 Fresno Zoo will open a new multi-acre Africa exhibit complex. It will include a new African elephant exhibit (new species to Fresno), a multi-species savanna (giraffes, white rhinos, zebra, antelope), meerkats, lions (returning to Fresno after a 20 year absence), and cheetahs (new to Fresno). After this part is open then phase 2 is scheduled to begin which will bring back hippos to Fresno.
