April 2014. This exhibit complex opened in 1986 and several exhibits have been added or expanded since then. This exhibit is adjacent to the Kopje and was not part of the original complex.

      Former bird aviary? Seems that the birds are being shunned out of the kopje area...

      I believe this used to have White-bellied go-away-birds last year.

      In November 2013 this exhibit contained Madagascar buttonquail, white-headed lapwing, and purple-crested turaco. At least, it did on the day I was there (all these changes are hard to keep up, some of the exhibits at the zoo are on a seemingly constant rotation!)

      I agree,it's pretty much impossible to keep up with. It seems like the species in the San Diego Zoo's on-exhibit lineup are constantly changing.
