Anjalee’s Tushes (Female Tusks)

I thought this photo was interesting as it highlights Anjalee’s tushes. Although not an uncommon feature in female Asian elephants, few of Australasia’s cows have them. Kashin never did and Burma only had one left by the 2000’s, which has since been removed.

Across Taronga’s herds, only Pak Boon and Thong Dee have them; while none of Melbourne’s cows appear to have them.
