It is a very beautiful and majestic building, one of those particularly enchanting historical animal houses in Europe. I don't recall any species being displayed within this visitors area, but it would be nice to have a few small African passerines and maybe some turtles or tortoises in here too, as a subtle accompaniment to the large mammals. Has this ever been considered? Would it be too costly to heat for tropical species?
At one time this area housed some of the more fragile waders, cranes etc during the winter and i think there were some S American mammal species on show here too.
