In Iran do not inhabit the Arabian wolf (Canis lupus arabs) and the Indian wolf /Iranian wolf/ (Canis lupus pallipes).
I prefer the zoo the hold local wolf species (for conservation education purposes). The Arabic wolves are better suited to any Arabian Peninsula zoo collection and conservation breeding program. As you well know ... both the wolves in Arabian Peninsula and Iran deserve conservation attention both in and ex situ. As far as I am aware the Indian subspecies pallipes may range in south-eastern Iran / Baluchistan province (and perhaps Seistan).
