      What's the weather generally like thin this area? A lot of these pictures look cloudy, is the climate similar to Portland? That climate seems like one of the only ones where cold weather animals like yaks won't roast and warm weather animals like giraffes won't freeze.

      Also, how does a town this little support and attraction like this? Is it near a major city?

      There are very hot summers and fairly mild winters according to Wikipedia, and the town of Winston has only 5,000 inhabitants so it is a bit bizarre that Wildlife Safari has managed to eke out a living all of these years. However, many people taking a major highway through the state of Oregon take a short detour to visit the establishment as it is one of the very few drive-through safari parks in the entire western United States.
