Asian hornet vs. Fallen cicada

These two behemoths of the insect world fought it out for over 10 minutes before the hornet got the better of the cicada. The hornet delivered at least 30 stings before the cicada was subdued.

      Nice picture, must have been a really cool observation! The markings on the abdomen of the hornet show it to be a European hornet, however. :)
