Another great photo as it shows a panoramic shot of the whole exhibit...which has rather rapidly gone from being grassy to a mud-pit. Yikes! Didn't this just open a few months ago?
Yes the exhibit opened in May I believe. Here's a video of it. At about the 0:24 mark you can see this exhibit with grass.
@natel12 What plants are you talking about? The small selection that is securely behind hotwire? It is possible to have a grass-covered exhibit for Capybaras but it requires much more space than what Pittsburgh have given the species here. This enclosure is very poor indeed!
@snowleopard I meant all the plants in jungle odyssey apologies I should have been more specific, and being a keeper in this area I agree it is quite poor
This would be fine if it wernt for that darn ugly 90 degree concrete wall along the edge of the pool. I think they must have been quite budget strapped looking at these exhibits, very little effort in making things look natural..
