Australian pelicans

photo taken about 1988. Two of these pelicans are still alive and at the zoo today, although their surroundings have changed somewhat. The little railway has now gone and the gibbon and monkey islands are in their place. The lake pictured here at that time held, as well as the pelicans, a variety of other Australian waterfowl including magpie geese and Australian shelducks, as well as two capybaras
