Aviary Blue-crowned laughingthrush (Garrulax courtoisi)
This critically endangered bird with an estimated wild population of just 200 is another one of the avian rarities at Antwerp Zoo. Several European zoos have newly acquired this species in the last few years and it is now, according to ZTL, kept at 35 facilities across Europe.
