The Meerkat enclosure was home to Ratel at the time of my first visit.

      Any ideas?

Jade is Saffiya's mother- I am sure on that.

Jade and Juna/Juma (and the other female with Jabir) may be offspring of the original pair they had from Washington Zoo but I am not so sure about that.

I didn't see any at Lympne - honestly can't remember if I saw an exhibit or not, but they're in the literature for the place and there was at least one fairly spacious cat enclosure marked as empty between the Red Pandaa and Rusty-spotted Cats so it could be they were meant to be there.

      Thanks for that Maguari.
Pertinax - it wouldnt suprise me if they were the offspring of the first group brought in, They would definately be the right age.
At Port Lympne in the woodland area there was a large enclosure right at the back far from the barrier fence that was marked for Clouded Leopards if I remember correctly.
I think the species has left Port Lypmne for the moment if they are still there, they are no where obvious to the public.

According to ISIS, Port Lympne has 1.1.1 Clouded Leopards. Of course, it may not be 100% accurate.

Hi guys need some info on the whole port lympe movements.

When i visited last year, The tigers and lions were next to each other near a restraunt/snack area? The crippled lioness was on her own at the back (coming down the hill) Is this the new enclosure for the hyenas?

Hunting dogs occupied the enclosures around the tiger/lions.

Have the first lion/tiger enclosures changed as they were being worked on while we were there? Two male lions and a female tiger and cubs were opposite to each other.

The safari experience ride was near a gift shop and a new meerkat enclosure was open but you had to walk down a dirt track and it was raining quite hard at this stage so we didn't have time to see it. Before the gift shop was a little enclosure with coatis in? Then further along this road was the dhole enclosure. Is this still the same or have things changed again!
    • Maguari
The meerkat and dhole exhibits are still where you saw them (the coatis is the one I'm not sure about - they are now in the first exhibit on the run to the lions/Safari Experience 'station').

For the far corner, my powers of description have failed me, so I present, in best '1066 and All That' tradition, a SKOTCH MAP!

It did hold some snowleopards for many years ,its been a long time since i visited Port lympne , but this enclosure definitely held snowleopards in the early 90s in fact there was even some snowleopard cubs born in that enclosure if i remember correctly
    • Jose
the last thing i heard of them was that they were in the old ocelot enclosure on the monkey walk near the bachelor gorrillas and the old barbaruissa enclosure which now holds Anoas,
    • Jose
that enclosure held a jungle cat but i think it probably died
