Wow. That is as nice as it gets!

Can you tell us something of this exhibit? Approximate size, different viewing areas?

And thank-you for sharing your pictures of this apparently beautiful zoo

      hi,

this exhibit is really large (more than 1000m²) and very well landscaped, it is tall with plenty of climbing possibilities and water pools. toys are available for the jaguars to play with. there is a second enclosure for a black animal which is a little bit different but as good as this one.
this particular enclosure can bee seen through two glass-panels. the other one is seen through a glass-panel in the middle of a pool and from above.

Never heard of this zoo but it looks very nice. Maybe the best in Mexico? What part of the country is it in?

Chetumal is located in South Quintana Roo near the belizian border.
It is an old zoo but local authorities have decided to make it modern and highly educational.
there are still some old parts (a large mixed-aviary, some very small cages for coaties, hippo enclosure) but the metamorphosis of this zoo is so spectacular that I have no doubt this will be remodeled soon.
the future interpretation center will be really huge.
