      Yes, i have been to sao paulo zoo and they are wisent.

      Very surprising that there are Wisent in South America when there is only 1 zoo in North America that has them.

      Really? What zoo in North America has wisent? I think I've heard of a zoo in Canada that has them.

      Both sao paulo zoo and rio de janiero zoo had interesting european species, wisent, european wolves, european lynx at sao paulo, european lynx, european brown bear, european wolf at riozoo, and of course large herds of red deer at both. I would suppose that some brazilian zoos exchange surplus of their native species to animal collections in europe for their species. maybe some of the brazilian zoochaters can comment more on this.
