This black bear exhibit is excellent, with a thick forest in the background and a deep pool in the foreground. Like almost every exhibit at North Carolina Zoo there is a high quality to it, and many other zoos would be jealous of the 500 developed acres (out of 1,500 or more) at the disposal of this massive zoo. I'm fairly certain that it is the largest walk-through zoo in the world, excluding the safari parks and open range establishments that dot the planet.
If you click on the picture to enlarge it, you can see that the bear exhibit is enclosed by standard fencing, if you look closely at the area where the light shines through the trees.
