      Exactly!!

      Deeming a geographical sub-species to be a full species owing to genetic differences (over 40 in this case) makes life difficult since the actual differences may not be related to external appearance.

      I would say that only a clouded leopard specialist may be able to tell (and maybe not even then).

      Old thread I know, but this is a representative of the diardi subspecies (Borneo or Sumatra). Where was the picture taken?

      it is a Bornean clouded leopard. The photo was taken at Lok Kawi in Sabah. This is a female animal originally confiscated from some people keeping it illegally as a pet in Ranau.
