Bucket of turtles at Zlin, 28/05/10

Yellow-spotted River Turtles, Podocnemis unifilis

These were being gathered up by two keepers, either for some sort of health check or for transfer out of the exhibit, I would say. This was a complex procedure, involving the female keeper rooting about under plants and her male equivalent stripping to his speedos and rooting in the pool furnishings, shooing the other animals around! There seemed to be at least one eluding them at this point.

The turtle`s enclosure looks rather small!! (Only joking!)
