Captain Seasick (Kapten Sjösjuk in Swedish) in Kolmården. From sometime between 2008-2010 and to 2017, the seal show had a pirate theme and was hosted by Captain Seasick. The show featured grey seal, harbour seal and South African fur seal and I liked it very much. Even though it was hosted by pirates, it was really informative and the pirates made the show entertaining without taking over too much. The pirate theming may feel like a children's thing but it was handled in a really nice way. Captain Seasick was speaking at an adult's level at all time and constantly telling jokes only understood by the adults. Actually it felt that he was more for the adults than the cildren. A large part of the show was about environmental change. This shows that you can combine education and entertainment in a really nice way

The show was really good until 2014. From 2015 to 2017 it was not that good.
This originates from a complete change in training methods in the dolphinarium at the end of 2014. The seals are under the same department as the dolphinarium and taken care of by the same trainers. The head dolphin trainer was replaced by a new one that implemented the new system for both dolphins and seals. Almost all other trainers were also replaced by new ones. In 2018 the seal show was an informative speech and in 2019 the new show SEALS had premiere. I don't like the new show at all, it is informative but very boring. It feels like the whole show is made for children and it feels more like a children's theatre than an animal show. Even though the trainers does not play any characters during this show, it feels much more like a children's show than the pirate show which was for the whole family.
