Zebra x donkey hybrid; Groombridge Place; 6th April 2012

According to the label, the zebra x donkey hybrid “Adam” was born in Florida on 13th June 1998. Unfortunately the label does not state what species of zebra the parent is.

      Aww, I thought it was the rediscovery of a Quagga. That would have needed more head and neck stripes though. Oh well.

      It is very donkey-like with broadish stripes,so I would guess from a Plains stallion of some kind. Grevy's seem to be used more often on horses, and usually pass on their fine stripes and tall 'type'..
