With slightly comedic crashed plane that very clearly was never a full plane.

Ok, that has got to be the cheesiest animal exhibit design element I have ever seen.

Perhaps you should review the Colchester Zoo gallery:D

I was pretty distraught that the crocodile from the otter pool had been removed as it was a fond childhood memory. I was therefore very happy to find it here :D

I actually like the concept of this prop, just needed a little better execution.

But why is it here? Is it to make us aware of the terrible danger of bird strikes to Australian aircraft?
    • James27
Nope, because it makes the exhibit more interesting for kids. This whole area is very child friendly, what with the theming, lorikeet feeding and the massive splash pool outside.

Perhaps no one here can really answer it: but why a crashed plane? Do kids enjoy that?

I know I would have lol. They also love the crashed jeep and other debris :p

Lorikeets come from islands in the South Pacific, many of which are littered with WWII debris. I think from that angle it could be an interesting element.
