Pretty cool photo. There are feral deer in Australia?

Those last pictures I posted were taken by people I know, not me.

We have around 250,000 Sambar in the mountains stretching from Melbourne way to past Canberra.
Hog deer along the east coast of Victoria.
      Rusa mostly around Sydney.
Chital in scattered, mostly places in Queensland
Fallow and Red in pockets across the south

It would be interesting to know how high a proportion Australia now has of these two species' global populations.

I did not realize that there are so many deer-spicies in australia!
    • Arizona Docent
      Me neither.

in New Zealand we have red deer, wapiti, fallow deer, white-tailed deer, rusa, sika, sambar, and maybe moose (but probably not)
