I was at Chessington today, and in the otherwise quite good 'show' this animal was introduced as a 'hog-nosed Andean coati' - whatever that might be. looks pretty like an ordinary brown-nosed / ring-tailed fellow to me. This is the same zoo that, on its website, tells us that a binturong has recently joined from "Singapore Zoo in China" (Binturong in Chessington Zoo's Trail of the Kings).

I thought it was an ordinary one as well

I'd like to know when the ring-tailed coati became the brown-nosed? I'm sure someone can come up with an amusing answer to that but on the serious side I grew up using the former term and never heard "brown-nosed" used until about eight years ago.
